The Albergotti Family

Agnes Albicio Albergotti.
One of the most deadly and rich women in history.
She is the matriarch of the Albergotti clan, and is the head of one of Aswary's largest and most powerful and influential mafia groups.
They are known as The Albergotti Family.
It began with the marriage between Agnes Albergotti and her husband Romigi Bonzai Contarini who became Romigi Albergotti-Contarini after his marriage to the ruthless matriarch of the Albergotti name. His marriage was a beautiful and expensive one in the sense of a woman clad in wealth and fame, and although it was a ceremony worth remembering for a lifetime, his honeymoon was one of the closest nights he would ever come to being killed in cold blood by someone he had promised to love for the rest of his life.
Their honeymoon took place in the distant city of Neon, within the same country borders as Aswary proper, and his most notable encounter with Agnes Albergotti. It was a loving time until just one night before their return to her home city, and they had been enjoying a night of fine dining and wine. Suffice it to say, Romigi made the mistake of bringing up the fact that his superior, the owner of the bank in which Agnes had safely deposited her wealth had made plans to see it disappear and to reveal to Agnes that he had simply misplaced it. Angered, Agnes drew a gun on her newlywed husband and threatened his life and his career if he failed to open an investigation into the matter and to share everything he encountered with her personally. She also demanded to speak to the owner of the bank to which Romigi declined before being warned by a shot into the floor which Agnes claimed would not miss should she fire again.
The investigation opened shortly thereafter, and when the owner's plans were exposed, Agnes armed her husband's family, members both young and old, and told them that if they did not take aim and punish the wealthy cheater for his attempt at ruining her riches and her legacy, that they would meet the same fate. A few days later, the owner was found dead in his estate with a note tied to his hand which read 'Regards to His Importance from The Dom." by the Aswarian Police Department only a few days later.
There are a whopping six families or more tied to The Albergotti Family.
The first is that of The Contarini's, the family to which Romigi belonged. His extended families numbered more than three dozen in all - at the time during which all members were known to have existed - and consisted of cousins, uncles, aunts and even some children as young as fifteen years old.
The Malatesta Family, which numbers some one-hundred strong and consists of the patriarch of the family as well as his brothers and sisters. Even cousins of the patriarch's family are included - beyond the ages of twenty and above - in the group, all of whom are fiercely loyal to Agnes Albergotti. The Malatesta Family is related by blood to the Constarini Family, and are the husband and extended family of Tita Constarini, the wife of Romigi's second brother, Giorgio. She is a cousin of Agnes in this regard, and is one of the closest members of The Albergotti Family to Agnes herself.
The Ziani Family, who are related to Romigi's mother Dianora, who is known by the Family as "Grand-dom Ziani" She is one of the fiercest members of the Ziani Family and is one of the most loyal women to Agnes herself, and served during the Family's entire history until her death aged one-hundred-three. Dianora's husband Nencio was one of the leading members during the civil war that saw the debate of the wealth distribution from Agnes' own riches. Nencio survived his wife until his own death at the age of one-hundred seven, and is one of the oldest members of The Albergotti Family and of the Ziani Family.
Tea Albergotti was the leader of her own ring of the gang, and it consisted mostly of her classmates as well as other close friends and their own families, who lived seemingly normal civilian lives when not attending meetings or other social gatherings on behalf of Agnes Albergotti and her inner circle. They were the social members of the gang who's people were employed by the church, the prisons, the police and other major bodies within the country, and were spread far and wide and gave the most valuable information to Agnes during her time as The Dom. Tea was involved with the civil war as were her gang members, but she survived the war until her death at the age of fifty-one. Her side of the Family was the largest, with thousands or more involved in the Family.
Back into the history of Agnes' parents, her mother's side of the family - her relations and not Agnes' - became involved with the Family as well. Her mother's name was never revealed, but her sister's son Adrius became her closest advisor and was the head of The Salvius Family, which was also the smallest group within the family, only about a dozen or so strong at the time of Agnes' height of power and influence in the mid-nineteen-hundreds.
And finally The Palmio Family. Led by Salvadore Palmio who was Romigi's oldest brother, he was one of the ties in the Family to the inner workings of the government and all of it's branches such as trade, economy, transportation and more. He was one of the wealthiest members of the gang other than Agnes herself, and had ties to countless dive bars, casino's, hotels, travel agencies, real estate and underground establishments within both Aswary and as far east as the inner coast of Opron. His was the third family to be involved in the war along with Tea Albergotti and Nencio Ziani.
Numbering in the thousands, The Albergotti Family is - and always throughout history will be - one of the largest and most powerful mafia families in Tarris Six history. There are four others, comprising of the Five Families, but their stories are for another day and another time.
