The Holy Grail

A sacred drinking vessel, the Holy Grail is only allowed to be seen and kept by those purest of heart. Its current residence is said to be with the Steward of the Grail in Corbenic Castle, where it has been even before the founding of the Knights of the Round Table.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The true intricacies of the Grail are not well-known to the public or even great leaders of Poraile. The only group who know this artefact's true nature seem to be the Order of the Grail, tasked with its preservation and the protection of where it resides.
It has been speculated that the trials knights must endure to reach the inner sanctums of Corbenic Castle - of body, mind and soul - are designed by the will of the Grail itself. Whether or not this is true has yet to be discerned. Only those who inherit the duties of Steward of the Grail are privy to the Grail's many secrets. Otherwise, it is kept locked away from those who are unworthy of its virtue.
Though most of its power comes from its cultural and religious significance, the Holy Grail is rumoured to have some enchantments. Some say that those who drink from the sacred chalice will never be thirsty again, whilst others claim the real mystical abilities come from those souls who are able to hold onto it without being injured or cursed.

Significance

With its magical, holy properties it is also considered an item beyond the ordinary to say the least. Its cultural significance - especially within the Council of Camelan - is with little parallel unless compared to Excalibur. Unlike that sword, The Holy Grail also carries a religious significance of similar proportions.

Raw materials & Components
The materials of the Grail are heavily debated, mainly because only a select few have actually seen it in person. Some argue it would make sense to be the most resplendent chalice of them all, spared no finery and glittering gold in the sun. Others would rather its appearance reflect the lesson it is trying to impart on mortals who dare seek it - something pure, humble and steadfast in adversity, made only of pewter or wood.
