The magicians that came before Wizards, Wiccan or any other. Those who have an iron grip on aether and even tighter grasps of the tenets of combat. These are the long-lost mages. 
Prevalent in the times when Poraile was in the tumultuous throes of a magiocracy, mages made and unmade the battlefield in their own image. With lost magic and inconceivable feats in the palms of their hands and on the tips of their tongues, it was no small wonder that Camelot was founded at all.
