The Arnikari Empire
This article is undergoing maintenance.
The predecessor to the Mag'arna, the Arnikari Empire was a large, multinational Empire that encompassed the regions today referred to as Arna, Ecrana, <Error: Name not Found>, and <Error: Name not Found> in the late <Error: Name not Found> Era. As a political state, it was rather short lived, lasting roughly three decades. But its cultural impact would be felt for centuries after its fall.
Very little documentation from the Arnikari themselves has survived to the present day. What we know of them instead comes from sources dated to the centuries after their fall. In fact, we do not know what they called themselves: the word 'Arnikari' comes from the cultures that followed after. The most prolific sources hold directly contrasting views, with those from Ecranan authors dated immediately after their disappearance casting them as nightmarish and cruel monsters, while those sourced from Mag'arnan writings paint them as noble and knowledgeable beings.
Etymology
Arnikari- From the Low Arnan proper noun Arna referring to the region stretching from the Dust to the Kilraxi Mountains and beyond.
- From the Low Arnan suffix kari, which denotes age and distance, used to modify a noun to indicate that it is in some way unreachable.
History
What little we know of the Arnikari Empire arises from the ruins and impressions they left behind. Arising from what is know known as the southern portions of Arna, sometime before the establishment of Preom Ecrana, Arnikari forces marched north from their homeland and laid waste to their less technologically advanced neighbors."The Arnikari show us the danger of unrestrained magic - its potential to build, and to destroy."
