Savelan Faithless

It must be difficult, living faithless in a land of faith. Disconnected from the Divine... I almost wonder what that is like.
Perhaps, there is much we can learn from them.

The Savelan Faithless are a secular subsect of the Savelan people who reside in the Kingdom of Arsavela, mainly consisting of races other than the local Boharin. Though exceptionally rare, it is not impossible to find a faithless Boharin.

The People

Most of Arsavela's faithless are the descendants of immigrants and travelers of distant lands, and other kingdoms in which faith was not of major cultural significance. These newcomers made their homes within the kingdom when times were more peaceful, under the Arsaces Monarchy, and brought their own unique perspectives to the land.

Counter-Culture

Due to Arsavela's recent change in leadership, its social and political climate has begun to heavily focus on religion. The effective theocracy, headed by the Alabaster Hand, has begun to villainize these faithless people over time.
The faithless continue to fight to be seen as equals to their faithful peers, with whom they have shared a home with for generations. The Alabaster Hand is unyielding in its zealotry and grows bolder by the day, however. Now, the Savelan faithless make up a large number of Arsavela's fleeing refugees.

Notable Savelan Faithless

Eren Mariste, leader of the Umbragolde is a well known faithless leader in her home of Aurel. She paved the way for many others to find success in Terramarre, despite being something of a minority in the region. Although with the Alabaster Hand's aggression, the way she paved seems to be slowly chipping away.

Even in a land brimming with faith, not everyone will be quite so faithful.

Diversity in the Kingdom

While much of Arsavela is steeped in faith, worshiping their gods and taking great pride in their religion, the faithless of the region are the people bringing the most diversity to the land. Because of their different experiences and outlooks, they brought unique perspectives to the kingdom.
