Power of Light gives the ability to manipulate waves on the electromagnetic spectrum, including visible light as well as forms of radiation above and below the visible spectrum. This is not the ability to create electromagnetic waves, merely manipulate already existing ones.

Light Terminology

illuminate	n. a person who possesses Power of Light The illuminate was able to shed some light on the situation.
Reflect	v. the act of bending light using Power of Light She Reflected the beam of light deeper into the cave so they could see.

Common Light Abilities

Bending of Light

The most basic of abilities is the ability to bend light waves without the aid of a reflective surface such as a mirror. This can be used to bring light to an area that is in shadow or to darken an area by bending the light away.

Color Manipulation

Illuminates are able to manipulate white light to become any color by attracting or dispelling specific wavelengths from a light beam.

Wavelength Manipulation

By manipulating wavelengths, illuminates are able to adjust waves to different parts of the spectrum. This may be done by transferring energy from surrounding waves or by removing the energy to put somewhere else. This can be dangerous, as it is possible to create harmful radiation in this way. Due to the technical nature of this skill, it requires proper focus and a certain level of strength as an illuminate to accomplish.

Mirage and Invisibility

Only the most powerful of illuminates have the ability to create mirages and appear invisible. These require not only masterful manipulation of surrounding light, but intense focus because of the sheer amount of manipulation required to achieve the effects.

Light in Practice

Unlike other common enmanities such as Geonature or Flora, Light does not have any kind of permanent physical fixture. Practical applications require an illuminate to always be present.

Lighting Dark Places

While it may be easy to use torches to create light in an environment such as a cave, it can be dangerous if certain gases are present in the air. This is especially true in rescue situations such as collapses of mines or buildings. In situations such as this, an illuminate chain is created to bend light around corners where daylight wouldn't normally be reflected.

Heat Transfer

Through manipulation of wavelengths, illuminates can create thermal radiation to heat things such as food or people in cold situations. They can also take already existing thermal radiation and transfer it somewhere else. Illuminates can be useful in mobile kitchens or other situations where heat source is not readily available.

Stage Lighting

Given a proper light source, a well-trained illuminate can single-handedly create the lighting effects required for theater and music performances. While modern technology has led to the replacement of illuminates in some situations, advancements in amperant Geonature have yet to replace the knowledge and ability to adapt held by experienced illuminates.

Yunographic Imaging

A recently developed application of Light is that of internal imaging using non-visible light spectrums. In conjunction aggregants creating special film, illuminates are able direct radiation through an object or person and create an image of the inside. This can be useful in medical and public safety fields. Due to the risk of hurting one's self or others with radiation, work in this field requires special training.
