Stone writer

The stone writer is a tool created by the Fareints with the help of the Dranith and used by the Fareints. It is used to carve in stone to write in it.

The pen

The pen is two crystals connected toghether by a metal bar and then surrounded by glass to protect the user's hands. One of the crystal is used to write on the stone while the other is the open/close button per se.

Construction

While the pen sounds simple to do (the hardest parts being the metal bar and the glass), the truth is that it is a complex process as the crystals do not want to connect to the metal nor the glass, so a special procediment has to be followed and it is only known by some Fareints.

• Black crystal (obtained the ability to cut stone after The dawn of magic)
• Red crystal (magical, started appearing after The dawn of magic)
• Conductor metal bar (usually copper)
• Glass

Mechanics & Inner Workings

By touching the red crystal in the back of the pen with fire, the pen will activate, and after a couple of minutes, it will be able to write on stone. This happens because the red crystal creates energy when activated (the fire) until it is deactivated (dropping water on it) and only if the crystal has access to air. The energy created by the red crystal is then transferred to the black crystal through a metal bar connecting both crystals which is then covered with glass to avoid burning the user. The black crystal "charges" up with the energy and after it is fully charged, it has the ability to write on stone (by cutting on it) that will constantly use energy (obtained by the red crystal). When the writing has stopped, the pen is "closed" by simply deactivating the red crystal (dropping water on it).
