Sandyyandes Deadland Derof

The Sandyyandes (Sand Giants) are a Mythological race of Giants elegidly residing within the desert of Deadland.

Endfader and the Merchant

The first story of the Yyantas from Deadland originated in the 1st Century NE.   According to the story a merchant and frequent traveller of the Ydeldrod was the first to have came across a Yyant. The merchant and the Yyant, now named Endfader (Giant Father) as his real name is lost to time, were both shocked and curious of eachother. The merchant offered Endfader some of his Beorkwyn (Birch Wine) to which he accepted and the two shared a bottle of the wín over a course of time. The two of them shortly departed and went on eachothers way. Apon arriving at the next village the merchant told all the Folk of his discovery to which they laughed at to what the thought was a joke. A giant yellow man drinking wyn with a merchant. The merchant annoyed at this set off once more to Deadland to find his new friend.   Arriving to the point of his first encounter and no sign of Endfader the merchant began roaming around, searching for signs of Endfader. In his journal he noted of the bizarre terrain of Deadland, bottomless ravines scattered across the land, dead trees and no signs of life or water and moving mountains. The most notable discovery he wrote in his journal was; "Great buildings of stone, buried within the ever shifting land. Forgotten skeletons of a civilization long before our own, the bleak reminder that the sands of time consume us all." He decided to search these old ruins for anything he could sell or trade, discovering in the process vast amounts of trinkets.   After returning to the village with his new found goods he sparked curiousity within the previously doubtful folk. Venturing forth once more with a large party and carts for cargo. What the merchant did not know was that a single person can venture through any land unnoticed, but a large party would not. The merchant's journal was the only thing that remained of the party, along with the warning written within it: "The lands are not as abandoned as we thought, beware the Demonskord(Little Demon)".

Related Evidence and Conclusion

There is no physical evidence of the story being real, the journal of the merchant even being lost to time. The story stays alive mostly through mothers warning their children not to stay out past dark, or venture to far from home less the Demonskord will get them.
