Mystara's Lantern

Geography

A constellation found in the celestial realm and used as a navigation aid by denizens of Galiyon.

History

Mystara's Lantern is first depicted in hieroglyphics as far back as the Age of Rising. It appears in the history of many different cultures under different names, though its distinctive arrangement makes it instantly identifiable. Said to be the Lantern of Mystara- God of Light and Justice     it is always used as a tool of navigation and a beacon of hope in every depiction of the constellation. Legend has it that Mystara saw the mortals of Galiyon suffering in the darkness of creation and came to aid them. She stayed with them for many years, using her lantern to bring hope and light to the darkest reaches of the land. Over time the people of Galiyon grew more capable and Mystara taught them the secrets of creating light through fire and magic.   Her duty completed Mystara made to leave the lands of Galiyon to return to the celestial realm but was met with cries of grief and worry from the people "Don't leave!" They cried "How will we stay safe?". Mystara embraced the people through her celestial energy and calmed them before telling them that she would never be far from them and that they need only look upon the sky to know that she was there. The legend tells that she then picked up some flower petals on the ground nearby and cast them into the night sky creating the constellation we know today as "Mystara's Lantern". Mystara said her goodbyes and left to rejoin her family in the Celestial realm soon after this and many cultures have similar myths depicting events almost exactly like these.
