Dance of the Fire Lord

Honō no mai, or simply Dance of the Fire Lord, is the annual festival conducted by the Darugas to celebrate their minor deity, Ogun and his master, Calendula. During the festival, a giant bonfire is burnt in the center of Dragur and the Darugas will begin their dance at the start of the beating drums.

History

Believing the story of Ogun's Wrath, the Darugas are obligated to at least celebrate one day for the deity and his master. The day of celebration happens to be the day when Sakaratul fell into slumber and Ogun returning to his master. It first begins by sacrificing farm animals and sending women to their doom. In Era 5, the celebration evolves into a full blown festival, complete with bonfire dance, drum playing, and food stalls. A shrine is built close to the wyverns nest for the Darugas to pray to their god and the Gargantuan Wyvern, Sakaratul.

Execution

A month before the festival begins, the Tenno of the Anluan Family will order their people to assemble materials and arrange shipments from other kingdoms to prepare for the festival. Wood and stones are shipped from Strigea for stalls, bonfire and platforms for the drums. The women are in charge of cooking and decorations as well as cleaning the shrines from soot and dust.    The Tenno emphasizes on perfection, and thus, the execution of the festival must be immaculate. This is out of fear for Ogun's Wrath once more on Draugr if the festival is not up to his standards. It should not be a surprise to witness anyone being whipped for messing up even with the most insignificant of problems like spilling water, though it is understandable as to why outsiders may find this festival appalling.
