The Bakers Brigade of Batten Hold

In the North Central region of Ereglast lies a community of good, descent halflings.  They are praised for their good nature, their songs, their hospitality, but mostly for their bread and their protection.  The Bakers Bridage of Batten Hold are a group of halfling fighters that traverse the roads of Ereglast, helping the citizens during the day, and baking bread on the roadsides of the evening.
Though short in stature, the Bakers are mighty in number and in spirit, and they have seldom been known to lose a fight.  When there is a troll in a village, they are called for.  When the centaurs break a treaty and kill a few villagers, the bakers are sent for.  No call goes unanswered, and no dough goes unbaked.  
You can recognize the bakers easily.  They wear halfling sized plate armor and helms with blue trim, and they carry halfling sized door shields with the depiction of a loaf of hot steaming bread painted upon them, and they are a bit overweight and jolly due to their consumption of carbohydrates.  They are even easier to recognize in the evening as you will see the fire first, then the smell of amazing baked goods will overtake your senses, and there will be songs to sing and ale to drink as well.
So long as you are of good or neutral alignment, the Bakers Brigade of Batten Hold will welcome you into their evening camps with open arms and feed any who are road weary and hungry.  They will share tales with you, so long as you share your tales with them as well.
Though extremely social, and often friendly, you do not want to get on the bad side of these wee warriors, as their numbers are normally twelve to fifteen strong, and they will not back down from a good brawl.  If you happen to see them on the road, wish them good luck in their travels and they will most likely break bread with you.
