"Throughout Enga, magic is often looked at as a gift or curse. For the majority of the population, magic and its users are well respected and treated with respect. In the majority view, the gods themselves must favor magic users to have given them such power and capability.
This is of course, the prevailing view.
In the southeast of Central Enga, however, magic will get you killed on sight. Specifically, in all but one Jarldom that borders The Ogledi Peaks and The Arcana of Toft, it is wisest to avoid the use of magic in all but life and death situations."
