Jaadällah
The Jaadällah, meaning 'justice-house' in Old Draconic, is a large building in Tjentadet, capital of the al Mustaba religion. This building is easily discerned from others due to it being completely constructed of massive emerald crystals, holy to the people that dwell around it. Long spikes of pure emerald rise out of the ground and intersect with other spikes high above the ground, creating a large, triangular shape with a hollow space inside. Can be compared in shape to a tent, but made entirely out of brightly glowing, green emeralds and 30 feet tall. The Jaadällah is the prime place for the al Mustaba to handle anything related to crime or justice within their society because of its seclusion, religious association, and magical effects.
Purpose / Function
The purpose of this building is to judge those who have wronged the Gem Dragon Pantheon under the full beauty of Fruldrae's Emeralds. The al Mustaba believe that under the light of Fruldrae's creations, the accused will not be able to lie and all of their sins can easily be seen, as if their exterior façade was stripped away by the magnificent crystals left behind by the majestic Emerald Dragon. This is backed up by some travellers who investigated the Jaadällah, with the Archdrake's permission, and found a serious amount of psionic power still contained within the magical gems, left behind by the Emerald Dragon. This psionic power trickles into the heads of those inside and loosens their tongues, pushing them into telling the truth completely unaware that they are under its effects. Because of this, any case deemed serious enough from any of the holy cities of the al Mustaba are sent to Tjentadet to be put on trial within this holy building. It ensures there are no mistakes when carrying out justice.
Alterations
The excessively religious people of the al Mustaba never alter the building for fear of damaging the psionic powers of their Gods. Furniture and decorations have been brought inside the large building, but all are made sure to be away from the Emerald walls, having nothing even touch the gem. No torches or inner lighting is needed inside either, due to the magical glow that the Emerald structure gives off., illuminating everything inside with such intensity that it can often make the people inside appear skeletal, or without flesh.
History
Shortly after settling on the bank of the River Lifeline, the people of Seven Cities discovered this magnificent emerald structure just slightly underground. The Maazin attuned to it and learned of Fruldrae and the possibility of other powerful Gem Dragons, and spread Fruldrae's history and message. The structure was not deep underground, so the settlers dug out the ground in a large area around it, taking extra care not to harm it in any way, and opened it up to the ground. Since then, the Jaadällah has acted as a holy site, almost as holy as the River Lifeline itself, and it is closely protected. It has been used as a courthouse to deal with inner crimes and administer justice since its uncovering.
Tourism
There are not many tourists that travel out into the desert of Seven Cities, partially due to the inhospitable conditions but also out of fear of accidentally upsetting the powerful al Mustaba and there many customs. Because of this, the Jaadällah does not get many tourists either, but has attracted many people studying the arcane arts or historians learning about the Gem Dragons. It is essentially an extremely rare artifact leftover by an extinct race preserved in perfect condition, with magical effects that still hold power. This attracts many of these specific, curious people who wish to learn about the strange psionic magic or witness the building's beauty.
"Please, I didn't steal any of the River water, I would never betray Pyrdarrytt!"
"Silence! By the Emerald lights of Fruldrae we can see you are lying. You have taken more than your fair share of water and I sentence you to death."
