Supernatural Threat Acquisition Response Team (START)

"What am I doing here? I'm just a guy with a gun." Trevor pressed his back against the car behind him. He could hear the low, guttural growl of the multi-headed beast in the intersection. They had already unloaded clips into the thing and that had only gotten it angry. He could feel the bile rising in his stomach.

"You aren't a guy. You are START. You are a highly trained soldier. Now.. Go stick this shit on that thing's belly. I'll distract him." His partner passed Trevor the explosive before darting out from behind cover in the other direction. "Over here, ugly! Come get you some!"

Composition

Manpower

Each unit contains 6 individuals with different specialties. Teams are fielded from all branches of United States military forces and come from a wide range of backgrounds. Each team has a demolitions expert, an interpreter, a historian, a medic, a engineering specialist, and an arms specialist. Each position is trained extensively in their field while also cross training in at least one other position as well as receiving high enough marks through basic training.

Equipment

START is outfitted with state of the art equipment designed to combat the supernatural threats that they find themselves pitted against. There is an entire team of scientists and engineers expressly designing tools to be used against the supernatural creatures that flood into the mundane world. They have a broad range of supplies from power dampening cuffs to shield generation technology. Each team member has their own kit of equipment to facilitate their position within the defense team.

Vehicles

Units have various vehicles available to them. They have everything from helicopters to motorcycles as well as more military range vehicles that are armored to help withstand the force of the threats they are coming in contact with.

Structure

Each unit has a commanding officer as well as each individual achieving their own rank within the military structure.

Training

Units are continually updated, briefed, and trained on new threats. There are meetings for the response teams prior to each mission to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge required to fulfill their mission and then they are debriefed afterwards to help facilitate future training for missions concerning similar threats.

Logistical Support

START is backed by the Department of Supernatural Threats(DST). In such, they are also accommodated with a satellite command station, high tech computers and a wide network of databases full of information. There are DST stations all over the United States of America that are able to help with logistical, surveillance, and supply concerns.
