Altham Shallow

Come let me tell you a tale about the Altham Shallow and the ruins there. Many generations ago the elves and Kamilita shifters got along. Here around the Altham Shallow was a great town that held both elves and shifters. They lived in harmony until the shifters decided to build a temple. It would be a place for them to marry, gather, and worship the mountains that loom over the lake. Many elves in the town didn’t like this idea thought that it was sacrilegious against the lake to ignore it in favor of the large stones that did nothing for life, like the water of the lake. The Kamlilta ignored them and built the temple anyways. Once building had been completed on the temple odd things started to happen in and around the lake. First the lake would change colors, blue, green, an odd blue purple. Next many noticed that the lake would swell damaging homes that were along the banks.   The elves blamed the Kamlilta for building the temple and disgracing the lake. While the Kamlilta blamed the elves saying they were using their magic against them.   While the two continued to blame each other the lake continued to change and grow. Many Kamlilta and elves left the town not liking the tension that now filled the city.   A fight broke out between the religious leaders of the elves and the Kamlilta religious leaders. The Kamlilta say that the elves placed a curse on them.   In the evening while everything was quiet and all were asleep a loud ‘Crack’ echoed through the night followed by the sounds of roaring water. The next morning found most of all the buildings and roads that had been at the waters edge were now underwater. Many Kamlilta that lived around and those that lived in the temple were all found dead.   What happened next is a mystery. All that is known form sure is that the few remaining Kamlilta fled the town while the elves also left.   The Kamlilta say that the elves cursed and killed the Kamlilta in retaliation for building the temple. While the elves say that it was the lake gods upset at the mountain temple at the waters edge and punished the Kamlilta.  Now both the elves and Kamlilta avoid Altham Shallow lake and each other only dealing with one another when needed for business, trust broken on both sides.

Summary
