Pleasure Town of Lyra

It's quite like Avistar before its fall, and that is why I come here often.
— Norzira Openheart, Bard

Overview

Not the most honorable town within the Queendom of Lunaria, but that doesn't stop many people from going there. The town of Lyra understands the power of vices all too well and leverages this most powerful of motivations to its plethora of business. Particularly in the realm of games.

Lyra Games

There are games in this town. Anything ranging from chess to horse racing. Many games played in Lyra are high stakes with many unwise competitors losing the clothing off their backs for their hubris. Most players in this town are ruthless with some rumored to not always abiding by the rules. Many games are bet on by bystanders for smaller games, and by an audience for tournaments.

Lyra Gambling

Some games offered in lyra are built solely for gambling. Many unwise souls have fallen prey to their own sense of luck or chance or ability to manipulate an outcome, but in most cases the house gains a hefty profit at an individual's expense. This is one of the more questionable ways Lyra creates wealth. Few offer condemnation however. Most seem to enjoy the adrenaline of chance despite the danger to themselves. Some gambles have an unfortunately violent end, depending on whose coin was being used by whom.

Other Services

Of course, a pleasure town would not be complete without a set of other services. Exactly what is it that's on offer? Ask the town's inhabitants yourself beginning with the Inns.
