Forging and Loss

The Scepter of Leadership was forged long ago during the convergence. When the Gods and mortal races fought a war to protect the material plane. It was passed through the generations, given to the leader of the Humans.   When the material plane was in its most dire circumstance, on the verge of total destruction. The leaders of the ancient tribes along with the gods Tyr, Gond, Helm, and Lathander forged the scepter to bring peace and prosperity to the world after the Gods are sacrificed. Tyr, Gond, and Lathander each provided a small essence of themselves, while Gond worked the metals and magic to craft the ornate scepter.   After the convergence, with the gods gone from the material plane, the tribes of man prospered, and passed the scepter from leader to leader for generations. That is until infighting and trickery cause the scepter to be lost, not only to the people, but to time itself. It has been a millennium since the scepter was lost, and only the the smarted mages and wizards have a clue of where it might be hidden. Some believe it is just an myth, and that it never existed in the first place.

Physical Characteristics

The Scepter is crafted from the finest gems and metals available at the convergence. A gold and platinum handle about 2 feet long meets a jewel encrusted orb. The orb which is is about 1 foot in diameter has the symbols of the gods that provided their essence and craftsmanship to forge the scepter. Light dances off the orb and dazzles all that look upon it.   With great beauty comes immense power. The scepter being a legendary item, both enhances the wielder and provides extra magic effects that helps the true leader of people. Great harm could befall the world or nations if the scepter were to fall into the wrong hands.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The scepter is an artifact with the following characteristics:
  • 2 Minor Beneficial Properties (+1 to AC, Can't be Charmed or Frightened)
  • 2 Major Beneficial Properties (4th and 5th Level Spell slot, if expended roll d6, recharge on 6)
  • 2 Minor Detrimental Properties (while attuned appearance changes, more regal, flaw is amplified as DM chooses)
  • 1 Major Detrimental Property (You take 4d10 psychic damage when you become attuned to the artifact.)
