New Angeles on Gaia in the Atlas System - Prompt #24 a settlement known as a pleasure town

Prompt #24 a settlement known as a pleasure town - New Angeles on Gaia in the Atlass
Prince Damien stood in the tallest building on Gaia, in a city called New Angeles, but angels had nothing to do with this place, unless they were fallen angels. He smirked as he looked over the city he had built through several shell companies which had partnered with Epoch Research Industries to ‘save’ humanity. The irony amused him. On the surface it was a beautiful place, with spacious parks, filled with statues and fountains. Wide streets filled with beautiful homes and tropical trees. An army of disguised zombies tended the flowers and greenery every night. It looked like paradise.
Club Sphere was very exclusive, the black glass geodesic sphere that marked the top of one of the highest towers in New Angeles.
She parked her motorcycle and walked to the private elevator; the doorman grinned at her. “Never expected to see you here, Jaguar.”
She had him on the ground in a moment, with her blade at his throat, “If you ever call me that in public again, Victor, I will remove your heart to fertilize my flowers and bottle your blood with our lord’s favorite cabernet.”
“I... I-I’m... s-sorry,” He choked out.   She let him and glared at him with hard ruby eyes. “You never know who is watching or listening. You may be one of our lord’s chosen one hundred but screw up again and my blades will get more than a taste, they will bathe themselves in your blood.”
He clutched at his throat, a thin line leaked red onto his bare chest. “Yes, ma’am, please go up.”   “Can I bring you anything when I come back down?” Darcy walked past him and leaned against the glass wall of the express elevator.
“Orb, if they have any left,” Victor begged.   “Doesn’t Lord Damien forbid us from using it? Or is it, what he doesn’t know won’t hurt us?” She asked in a languid drawl.
Victor shrugged and swiped his card before typing in the code. The glass doors closed. One hundred floors later, Darcy was above the low clouds. The lights of the city looked ethereal through the mists. On the first floor, a bar tender was lazily wiping glasses. He barely spared her a glance as she went up the stairs. A throng was dancing in hypnotizing rhythm; grinding and groping as much as anything else. She noted a few Aetherians in the mostly human crowd and absently wondered how Sebastian’s date went. Bored after a few minutes, she went up to the private level. Everywhere Orb-intoxicated people were having sex or lying naked and too dazed to react as others took advantage. Every manner of sexual act was in progress as Darcy climbed the stairs to the observation deck.
“Overseer,” she greeted the person who managed the Sphere as she sat down.
“Jaguar... I am allowed to call you that since we are not in public, but I prefer Darcinda, it is so much prettier, don’t you think so?” the Overseer stated coolly in a strangely melodic voice.
Darcy had never figured out if the androgynous servant of her lord was male or female. It did not matter to her job as assassin, one gender died as easily as another. The Overseer’s purpose was to find the hidden desires for their lord to manipulate or exploit. “Only if I am allowed to call you Dylan.” Darcy smirked at the scowl her remark earned.
“Why are you here? Our Lord has not sent for you,” the Overseer asked as they set an absinthe cocktail on the bar.   “I am bored,” Darcy said quietly. “Is there anything I can do to pass the time? Or any freelance hits?”   The Overseer’s eyes turned black for a moment, so Darcy sipped her drink and waited.   “No, you are not to draw attention to yourself. Our lord wishes you to continue to cultivate a romance with his uncle, to remain as a friend and ally to the Oracle, and to await the time he desires.”
“Very well. I will do everything to continue the ruse,” Darcy stood. “Good night, Overseer.”
“Good night, Jaguar. May the shadows rise until his kingdom comes.” The Overseer intoned.   Darcy almost rolled her eyes at the religious reverence, but responded in kind, “Until his kingdom comes.”
Walking down the stairs she noticed a man and a woman waiting for the elevator, so she went to stand beside them. They both looked her up and down lasciviously.
“Where did you get that wonderful dress?” The woman slurred.
“It’s custom made by the Only Red Boutique on Nuevo Rodeo, do you know it?” Darcy asked sweetly. “The owner is the best designer on Gaia.” “I should stop in and get a few,” the woman said as she looked over Darcy again.   Glad she had worn a long red wig, Darcy nodded, “Just tell Hana, Lucy sent you.” Lucy was Moyra’s new neighbor on Dauntless, and a friend of Hana’s, she lived in Darcy’s old apartment.
“Thanks, Lucy, I’m Nina.”
The lower level bartender offered them each a black box containing Orb as they got on the elevator. On the ride down, Darcy watched curiously as the man cracked his Orb open and greedily inhaled the fumes.
His eyes flashed black for a moment then he staggered against the glass. “Oh, that’s good stuff."
Darcy smiled at the woman, “You’re going to have fun tonight, Nina. He’ll do anything you want.”
“You could always come home with us, Lucy, and he’ll do anything we want,” the woman offered then she rattled off her address. She held out a black card, “Or maybe we’ll see you at the Rave at Ten Falls, we have a private terrace reserved.”
“Maybe I’ll see you later and see you there,” Darcy answered as the door opened. She handed the box of Orb to Victor as she stepped out and went to her bike. She would kill him later for violating their lord’s mandate, but for now, she would have a little fun. It would make it so much easier to go back and kill them later and since they were contaminated with Orb, no one would care or miss them, and their address was a lovely villa near Metropolitan City. Maybe she’d keep it if the view was nice.
